Nagasaki 1st district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Southwestern Nagasaki and covers the city of Nagasaki without the former towns of Kinkai and Sotome. As of 2009, 353.871 eligible voters were registered in the district.

Until the electoral reform of 1994, the city of Nagasaki was part of a multi-member 1st quarter of Nagasaki, where five representatives was elected in single transferable vote.

The district leans toward the Democratic party and its predecessors since its creation. Only in the 1998 elections, the liberal Democrat Masakazu Kuranari, the eldest son Tadashi Kuranari, a longtime former representative on multi-member 1st quarter, you can win a seat, but lost to Democrat Yoshiaki Takaki in the next General elections in 2000.
